Storyboard: CELTIC WORLD (characters & locations)

EPISODE ONE: The Celtic Odyssey

The Celts faced many harsh and unrelenting challenges during their journey to the New Ireland. They had to navigate through treacherous seas and overcome powerful storms. Faced with these many hardships their perseverance and determination helped them overcome each one as they traveled towards what would become their new home, and eventually established their presence in the New Ireland.

During their journey, the Celts encountered a tribe of painted warriors early on, with whom they exchanged gifts as a sign of goodwill. The language barrier was also a significant challenge, as they could not communicate with any of the tribes they encountered. Additionally, they had to deal with the harsh terrain and climate of the new land they were exploring. Despite these challenges, the Celts remained determined and persevered, ultimately establishing their presence in the New Ireland.

As they traveled further down the coast, they encountered other tribes, some hostile and some willing to trade. They engaged in fierce battles with some of the hostile tribes and traded with others. However, the Celts did not just focus on fighting or trading, but they also took the time to learn about the local people and their way of life. They spent a winter with a mysterious tribe, during which Celtic monks began to record details of the language, land, and people. The Celts were interested in learning more about the people they encountered and finding ways to communicate with them.

INT. A MONASTERY IN IRELAND - NIGHT
A rugged and weather-beaten clan of CELTIC WARRIORS arrive at the monastery, where they are greeted by the ABBOT. They share their journey and their intention to explore deeper into the land to the west.

ABBOT
The land you speak of is known to us. Our monks have sailed to that distant shore and have returned with tales of a vast and fertile land. We call it Éirinn Úr, the New Ireland. I will share with you the knowledge we have gathered and the sacred texts that will guide you on your journey.

The Abbot gives the Chieftain a set of ancient scrolls, detailing the route to the New Ireland. The Clan begin loading supplies onto their boats in a small fishing village. Their Chieftan, COROTH, shouts orders as they prepare to set sail out into the dark Atlantic.

COROTH (to his lieutenant, Conor)
The Romans now control Gaul. We can no longer ply our trade there. We sail west. The monks speak of an unseen land across the sea - perhaps we'll find our fortunes there.

CHIEFTAIN
Gather around, my brave warriors! We embark on a journey that will forever be etched in the books of our people. The gods have shown me a vision of a land far to the west, beyond the great sea. We shall venture forth and claim this new land for our people. The journey that lies ahead will test our courage and determination. But we are the children of the gods, destined for greatness. Let us sail to this New Ireland and write a new chapter in the history of our people.

The warriors cheer and prepare for their journey. With the guidance of the ancient scrolls, the Celtic warriors are eager to set sail once again.
